House of Prayer Apostolic Church

Apostolic beliefs, according to the King James Bible (KJV), are based on the teachings of Jesus Christ as passed down by His apostles. We emphasize salvation through Jesus, baptism in His name, the infilling of the Holy Spirit, holiness, and adherence to the doctrine preached by the early church. Key scriptural references include:

1. One God (Monotheism) – One God who manifested Himself as Father (Creator), Son (Redeemer), and Holy Spirit (Comforter).

  • Deuteronomy 6:4 – "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord."

  • Isaiah 43:10-11 – "...before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no savior."

2. Jesus Christ as God in Flesh – Jesus is the one true God manifested in human form.

  • John 1:1, 14 – "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."

  • Colossians 2:9 – "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

3. Salvation through Jesus Christ – Salvation comes through faith in Jesus, repentance, baptism in His name, and receiving the Holy Spirit.

  • Acts 2:38 – "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and yeshall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

  • John 3:5 – "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

4. Baptism in Jesus' Name – Water baptism must be performed in the name of Jesus, not using the Trinitarian formula.

  • Acts 8:16 – "For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."

  • Acts 10:48 – "And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord."

5. Holy Spirit Baptism with Evidence of Speaking in Tongues – The infilling of the Holy Ghost is accompanied by speaking in tongues.

  • Acts 2:4 – "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

  • Acts 19:6 – "And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues and prophesied."

6. Holiness and Separation from the World – Apostolic believers strive for a holy lifestyle in conduct, dress, and speech.

  • 2 Corinthians 6:17 – "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."

  • Hebrews 12:14 – "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."

7. The Second Coming of Christ – Jesus will return to take His church (the rapture) and establish His kingdom.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 – "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

  • Revelation 22:12 – "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."
